4Revs World Hackathon by NELIS
4Revs is a unique, co-creative ecosystem that aims to help humanity solve the four survival challenges, relating to food, water, resources, and climate change/energy, in one generation – between 2020-2050. They have partnered with corporations, social ventures, sustainability practitioners and entrepreneurs, educators, public and civil organizations, and creative minds on all six continents to inspire and implement next-generation initiatives in each of the 4Revs. 4Revs Innovation Challenge is a global call to identify the solutions that are already creating a path for the revolution’s humankind needs to survive.
At this event our governing board had the opportunity to become one of the evaluators of 4Revs Innovation challenge to help them assess the proposals for solutions to global issues associated with (1) food, (2) water, (3) resources, and (4) climate change/energy, in order to determine the best initiatives that will work towards a better world, catering for both current and ongoing generations. In this opportunity we had assess 8 proposals from around the world including Mexico, Colombia, Uganda, United States, Nigeria and Egypt. Majority they came up with a great idea, the differences was only on as to how they apply in the society. We found out that the most innovation as well as applicable proposals were Sustainable Water Management Plant from Nigeria, El Diablito Jerky from United States and +Compost Open from Colombia.
It was such an honor for us to participate in this innovation challenge and become one of the evaluators for we fully support any programs/projects that highlighted sustainability for better future of humanity.
