Who You Are Research Program

A Glance of Summary of the Research
Our first endeavor in 2019 is to launch a Research Program. This research focuses in determining cultural roots of an individual. This project is named "Who You Are" Research Program on Cultural Genetics Basis. The question of identity has become more essential in this globalization era. Borderless situation, human migration and acculturation are factors that make socio-cultural condition be in the critical point. Without understanding comprehensively about our own identity, it is impossible we could understand one another.
Cultural genetics method was postulated based on our previously research on the study of interwoven connection between genetics and culture. CULTURAL GENETICS is a wholistic approach of genetics study that involves cultural roots notwithstanding cultural mapping and cultural knowledge construed from the environmental-affected threshold, which encapsulating the concatenation between genetic, the environment as well as the societies in order to maintain sustainability of life in harmony with nature.
Based on this definition, the method could determine the root of culture of human population and necessarily its people, although these people have traveled far away from his/her home ground. The said cultural roots are beyond ethnicity. It focuses on the persistent customs that fixed over evolutionary time and inherited from one generation to another. There are three indicators that we observed, those are environmental-affected threshold, persistent customs and genetic characteristics.
We hope that with this new method we could contribute the knowledge in determining people's identity in a comprehensive yet fundamental manners. It is not only to apprehend who we are but also to understand the differences with other fellow humankind. It is none but to constitute harmonious communities across the globe in achieving sustainability of life. Thus, knowing who we are is prerequisite matter before we could manifesting sustainable development agenda and its goals.
