The Blanco Museum, Ubud, Bali, Indonesia
We visited The Blanco Museum in Ubud, Bali, Indonesia on May 11, 2022. The Blanco Renaissance Museum is an exquisite compound to savor the art, life and dreams of Don Antonio Blanco’s breath-taking works of art exhibited in his newly built main museum and in some historical ancient rooms by the studio. In this very inspirational place surrounded by conservation endemic bird farms, especially Bali Starlings and Cockatoos of Balinese fruit trees and many tame local birds, the visitors have the chance to personally interact with the artist’s family members.
In this visit, we have an opportunity to see the collection of Antonio Blanco paintings since he was studying art in New York until he resided in Ubud, Bali. His paintings are one of the extraordinary paintings. He paints various women especially in Bali in natural condition. The most important of his painting type is it looks like a color sketch painting but is so beautiful and lively. In his collection, each and every collection is framed with a very specific and beautiful frame in accordance with the theme of the paint itself.
In addition, the tour guide also explained to us the story of Antonio Blanco and his family. His mastery in painting has been handed down to the maestro’s only son, namely Mario Blanco. Mario has certainly developed his talent intensively through his real preference for a style of impressionism, as shown on his magnificent paintings in this museum. Mario explores his own creation by featuring objects that emerge from his own religious vision of Hindu and Balinese culture philosophy.
This museum is one of the special museums in Ubud, Bali. The maestro Don Antonio Blanco, although came from Catalonia and was born in Manila, spent almost his life in Campuhan Hills, Ubud, Bali.
From this visit, we are truly learning about the life of the maestro and his family members. The dedication to art and painting not only constituted by the maestro but also all his family members including his wife and children.
