4Revs World Hackathon by NELIS
4Revs World Hackathon is one of the largest hackathons in the world involving 75 young social innovators from around 25 countries and 100 staff from major Japanese corporations. This summit addressing 4 major issues in sustainability of humanity, those are water, resources, food and energy. Held on October 29 and 30, 2020. The summit was divided into three sessions, namely Asia group, Africa and Europe group, and South, Central and North America groups. This global summit held by NELIS (Next Leaders’ Initiative for Sustainability), which has the headquarter in Shiga-ken, Japan.
The mission of the (NELIS) is to connect, inspire and empower a new generation of sustainability leaders across the world. NELIS argues that only by linking a new generation of sustainability practitioners across the world in a collaborative network, will humanity be able to shift towards a more humane and ecologically sound model of social and economic development.
The uniqueness of this summit is connecting the corporations with young innovators around the world who have great ideas in tackling the above four issues for the sustainability of society. The corporations are also willing to funding them if their idea is truly applicable to the society.
It was such an honor to be participated as one of the Mentors in this global summit addressing sustainability of life for our foundation also highlights any sustainability program in any aspects of life. We expect that in the near future such event should have more diverse corporations involved not only from Japan but also from all the corporations around the world, resulting in more comprehensive outcomes to the world over.
