Participation in Borak Arts Series 2018 in Adelaide
Borak Arts Series is an annual performing arts conference and market that creates opportunities and builds capacity through the congregation of Southeast Asian and artists, presenters, producers, intermediaries, international cultural leaders, funders, academics and students. Since 2013, Borak Arts Series has welcomed over 1,100 delegates from 26 countries, 29 international festival directors and presenters as well 42 international funding stakeholders.
Over three days, attendees will hear keynote talks, panel sessions from leading industry practitioners, see leading performances from the region, pitches for new projects and extensive networking and engagements with peers and leaders. Our Governing Board was invited to attend Borak Arts Series 2018 in Adelaide, Australia on 1 to 3 November 2018, as Asia-Europe Foundation (ASEF) participant. We were grateful for this opportunity to attend such important conference. |
The Borak Arts Series 2018 event in Adelaide was an interesting event. The most interesting thing was the meeting of artists and cultural practitioners from Southeast Asian countries and Australia to exchange ideas, establish partnerships and if possible make collaboration. In some collaboration we have seen the right connectivity based on root of culture, for example : between Ambon city and Adelaide.
Meeting with the people from across regions through this event makes us believe that our vision in Chakra Cultural Foundation is indeed going to the right direction that is encouraging the existence of the cultural roots and mapping in order to manifest harmonious community to uphold sustainable development based on culture as a backbone. |
