Participation in ICOMOS PRERICO Scientific Symposium Bangkok 2022

This year, the ICOMOS Annual General Assembly, Extraordinary General Assembly, the Advisory Committee meetings and the Scientific Symposium took place in Bangkok, Thailand, from 25 to 30 October 2022, on the generous invitation of ICOMOS Thailand. The meetings took place in hybrid format (ie. in-situ and online in part).
The ICOMOS Scientific Symposium theme this time was “Religious Heritage: Celebrating and Conserving Places of Religious and Ritual Significance in a Global World and In Changing Climates.” This symposium was inviting more than 50 speakers from around the world including Spain, Russia, Austria, Australia, Israel, Japan, Korea, Singapore, Malaysia, Czech, France, Indonesia and many others including from Thailand. |
We, as Chakra Cultural Foundation together with our colleague from Bali Dr. I Putu Gede Suyoga were being invited to this meeting as speaker to presenting our paper entitled Ngubeng: Changes in Perception and Utilization of Religious Space and Hindu Rituals in Bali During Covid-19 Pandemic.
We are very happy to attend this important symposium to present also to learn about another speakers’ presentation. We also have an opportunity to network with all the scholars around the world concerning cultural heritage.
The next conference of ICOMOS will be held in Sydney Australia on the next September 2023. We are being invited also to attend this upcoming meeting and we are also invited to become PRERICO Representative in Indonesia.

OUR PARTICIPATION AND REVIEW
This ICOMOS PRERICO meeting is one of the important meetings for the Chakra Cultural Foundation, because this is the first conference that we attend after Covid-19. We are grateful that our presentation also went very well and getting positive feedback from the audiences. Meeting all the colleagues from around the world after Covid-19 pandemic was such a delightful and amazing moment to allow us to discuss and to gather in person again. We definitely convey a deep thank you to ICOMOS PRERICO especially Thailand Committee for this amazing event. Hope we can see each other again next year. |
