Cultural Mission to Japan: Arts Exhibition, Cultural Exchange and Dissemination in Amakusa
The Cultural Mission to Japan: Arts Exhibition, Cultural Exchange, and Cultural Dissemination in Amakusa was successfully conducted in October 2025, representing a significant milestone in Indonesia’s international cultural diplomacy. This mission was supported by the Ministry of Culture, the Directorate General of Cultural Diplomacy and Cultural Promotion, ensuring strong institutional backing for Indonesia’s cultural presence abroad. The delegation showcased selected artworks, creative expressions, and cultural research as part of Indonesia’s ongoing effort to strengthen global cultural understanding.
Throughout the mission, the Indonesian team carried out a series of activities in Amakusa, including an arts exhibition, interactive cultural workshops, and dialogue sessions with local communities, educators, and cultural practitioners in Japan. These activities created meaningful opportunities for knowledge exchange, mutual appreciation, and artistic collaboration. One of the highlights was the public cultural discussion held at Amakusa Library, where multidisciplinary Indonesian speakers shared insights on cultural studies, heritage, and creative practices, attracting strong local engagement.
The mission concluded with positive outcomes for both countries, strengthening the cultural bridge between Indonesia and Japan. The event enhanced Indonesia’s visibility through high-quality artistic presentation and culturally informed dialogue, while opening doors for future joint programs, school partnerships, and cultural talent exchanges. This cultural mission stands as a testament to Indonesia’s commitment to promoting arts, heritage, and cultural diplomacy on the international stage.
