Initiation of New Program: Sakola Indung
The preparation of the Sakola Indung program continued to make significant progress this year. Developed as a comprehensive training initiative for women aged 17–45—prospective mothers and mothers—the program integrates Cultural Intelligence (CQ), local Sunda parenting values, nutrigenomics, women’s health, and the legacy of Dewi Sartika’s educational philosophy. The academic foundation of the program is strengthened through collaboration with Prof. Dr. Evie Ariadne Shinta Dewi from Universitas Padjadjaran, who plays a key role in refining the curriculum and ensuring scientific and cultural alignment.
Sakola Indung is designed to be implemented in several districts across Jawa Barat, following the framework developed in the proposal submitted this year. The program aims to empower women as central pillars of nurture, culture keepers, and key agents of social transformation. The challenge ahead lies in securing sustainable funding, forming partnerships with local governments, and engaging women’s communities to support implementation at the grassroots level. These collaborations are essential to ensure that the program reaches diverse groups of women across urban and rural areas.
With ongoing curriculum refinement and stakeholder engagement, the team hopes to begin a pilot trial of Sakola Indung in 2026. This trial phase will serve as the foundation for evaluating the model, strengthening community participation, and preparing the program for broader rollout across West Java as a culturally grounded, evidence-informed initiative for women’s education and empowerment.
